【摘要】:Moldingandextrudingplasticpelletsrequiredustfree,drypelletstopreventprocessingproblems.Plasticproducerstrytoremovethedustandstreamerswithdustremovalsystemspriortopackagingandloading.Howtoaccuratelymeasuredustandstreamercontentinplasticpelletsisanimportantqualitycontrolissue.Particlesizeanalysisisusedtodetermineapercentageofparticlesizedistributionfromarepresentativesampleofthewhole.Intermsofsizeanalysisconcerningplasticpellets,sievingisusedtodeterminethedustcontentintherangeof500to2000micron.TestMethodD1921,TestMethodB,isusedtodeterminethistypeofparticlesizing.Afterdrysieveanalysis,particlessmallerthan500micronsneedtobeanalyzedbywetmethod.Afreshsampleshallbeusedforwetanalysis.Thistestmethodallowswashingdownthefinesattachedtothepelletsbyelectrostaticforces.Thewetanalysisprovidesaccuratequantificationofsmalltolargeamountsoffines,negatingstaticeffects,andeliminatingdetrimentaleffectsofmechanicalagitation.AwetanalysismustbeemployedtoaccuratelyquantifylowerPPMdustlevelsinplasticpellets.1.1Thistestmethodmeasurestheamountoffineparticlesadheredonplasticpelletsorgranulesinwhichtheyarecommonlyproducedandsupplied.Thelowerlimitofthistestmethodisrestrictedonlybytheporosityofthefilterdiscusedtocapturetheparticlesizebeingquantified.1.2Thewetanalysistechniqueallowsforseparationandcollectionofstaticallychargedparticlesbyliquidwashandfiltrationmethods.Thismustbeperformedunderstandardlaboratoryconditions.1.3ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasstandard.1.4Thistestmethoddescribesanessentialpracticetocheckthequalityofplasticsoncetheproductioncycleisterminatedandtoevaluatetheperformanceofpelletcleaningsystemsorofthespecialpneumaticconveyingsystemsforthedistinctsizefractionsbelow500micrononly.1.5Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Note18212;ThereisnoknownISOequivalenttothisstandard.
